More Digging!

So we finished building the new landing and most of the berm and started testing it to figure out how to build the new lip only to find the first lip is cracking!!

So I leveled out the rest of the ground and filled in and piled up the back of the lip for support. Here's a pic of lip now.

And here's how the landing is going so far.

Dirty Riding

Nice productive day today. Got lots done on our soon to be 12ft dirt quarter. got the old weed spray out and got some riding done. Here are a few snaps from today taken by Zerin, Cameron, Kurt and lee. Lee hurt his wrist yesterday so just took it easy.

New Frame!

Got a new frame today Macniel bibi v2. She loves dirt. Also got stopping mechanisms for the first time since I have been riding pretty much. They are pretty fun. Bikes running mint. Jumps are running mint. I'll take a few snaps of some riding of dirt tomorrow and post them up. Heaps of people riding them today. Including some real young 1's. Don't know what's happening to skatepark upgrade and don't care to much either. Dirt is where its at. Anyway heres some pics of my ride.

Dirt Jumps!

Dig! dig! dig! It was pissing down with rain all weekend so on saturday at 9 am me and aidan went to the skatepark and built jumps all day. till about 4pm. It was very wet but jumps progressed alot. We built the start of a new line. The next day we did the same but with help from Casey, Lee and Jayden aswell. We pretty much completed the new line. Without the smoothness cause it was all muddy. Then today Jordan, Tyler, Lee and I did some quick touch ups in the sun. Anyways here are some pics.

Overdue Mot BMX blog

The scene in Mot has been going off lately and this blog is well over due. So I think I'll do a rundown of the last few months.

March 7th:
Caseys Scott got back in the game. Got a sweet new bike




And we built a box jump at Casey's! The box jump consists of a big Shipping container going to a narrow playground slide then to a nice smooth box jump to hit with perfect speed. Plans are to get a wooden quarter pipe in to end the run.





March 13th and 14th:
This weekend we had a mean jam on box jump and Che Te Tai Learnt Back-flips.

Also I think it was around this weekend when a Mot local who recently moved to Christchurch Johnny Bonar had a bad crash. Johnny was having a pretty casual ride at Jelly park (Skinners park) When a fly out flip went wrong and he went down hard. He Hit his stem in the genitalia area and snapped his urethra and did some really bad damage to his internals. Johnny has had a bad run after getting and recovering shoulder surgery the year before. So it was in his best interests to donate his bike to his brother. Tremain an up and coming Mot grom. Good luck with surgery Johnny. Hopefully you can get back on your bike sometime!

March 20th and 21st
At our fresh local jumps (Ngatimoti fire-pit) there was a dirt jump jam. The Ngatimoti jumps were designed by the one and only Kelly Mcgarry. ()
The jumps are very nice smooth and are well maintained by us locals and the dude next door Damien ???? Who has a Facebook page with opening times.
Now the day before the jam we were all Riding the jumps dialing them in and getting our confidence built up. It was a good ride consisting of Coke, Aidan, Casey, Do it guy, Puha, Che and myself. We went back to Mot skate park and had a warm down before home. The one and only Daniel Puha who has some sweet signature bars for EDH was over. So Me, Casey, Aidan, Puha and Coke decided to have a game of BMX.
The game was pretty sweet and going for a long time then Aidan 270'ed the old hip. Everyone did it then I though oh yea I'll go a bit faster than normal and crank a table in there. I mean its a daily thing we all do. Then disaster struck and I looped out and went down hard. My knee collapsed inwards I did the splits and my foot got all twisted up. Stuffed a Joint by big toe. The next day (Jam day) went off. Everyone was shredding and hitting the biggest line. Everyone Except for me, Johnny and Kelly. Kelly being Kelly Mcgarry creator of the jumps. Kelly went down hard the night before and had a swell-bow the size of a watermelon. Johnny wasn't riding because of reasons in weekend above. Anyways back to the jam.
I was broken from the day before and I made this sweet jam edit to show the sweet riding that went down.



April 10th:
The mot boys go to Blenheim. Casey, Nicole(Casey's gf), Aidan, Che and myself went to spring creek to do a bit of digging and riding before the jam. I did get 2gb plus of some sweet footage for an edit but we went and had some brews at Casey's that night and it got deleted... A lot of good riding went down at spring creek and the Mot boys love them! Had a few complications with Che's bike. snapped his crank arms day before. But we went and got a mean crank arm from Puha's that was wielded to a Ceilenski pedal which must of been in Puha's shed for years. it somehow fit.. Also on the way home a silly police officer gave Casey a speeding ticket. lucky it wasn't on the straight before or we would of been walking home...

April 24th:
Spring creek trail jam! The jam was sick. The riding went off. The after party was very drunk. Well the day started off pretty nice. There were 3 car loads from Mot. 1 from Nelson One with Casey, Nicole, Aidan, coke and myself.
One with Tyler and Jordan. One with the Girl friends. and Then Che with some nelson chicks. On the way over Coke and I were drinking some bourbon. By the time we got there I wasn't really in a state to ride the jumps but every1 else got straight into it. Including coke who had never been there. We had a special guest Brodie Knox (One of the creators of Motueka's BMX scene). Brodie had come over from Brisbane for a week and a bit. Near the start of the jam another BMXer originated from Mot/ Nelson scene Ben Seek pretty much pressured me in the state I was in to try ride. This ended in a nose case to Rolly Polly down 1st landing. Tyler Knox was shredding hard with tuck to whips and triple tail-whips. I think first kiwi to do both? Brodie was busting massive flips and almost landing bike-flip airs on the dirt quarter-pipe! Casey was 3ing and whipping through the jumps. Also busting a no-foot-can tree tap. Aidan was also flipping crazy with his big flips and height and style through the jumps. Coke was busting mean no handers everywhere and doing some sweet Turndowns. and Che was pimping and Jumping through with ease and some clicked Turndowns.

May 8th:
Christchurch! Casey, Nicole, Aidan, Shayna and I went to Christchurch! On Friday before we left me and Aidan went for a ride. I snapped my frame so went and got it wielded then we got picked up and left. Was a long drive but we finally got to Ben's.
When we got to Ben's Ben was so drunk it took him 5 mins to realize we had arrived. So we went and loaded up on booze. We sat in the garage for a few hours listening to the one and only sleazebag jamming his gat and Dylan banging the drums. They are so rad! Then we had some drinks and most of us stumbled to town. That night we must of went to most the clubs in chch. It was going off. It was gnarly! The next day we woke early amping to ride and so our group minus the girls plus Ben, Asher and Stefan went to Linwood. just as it started to rain and we were leaving Tom and Shaun rolled up. Tom got his second puncture for the weekend. We then cruised to ride Bowenvale in the showering rain. Aidan loved it. Me and Casey just chilled while Aidan the nutta was busting flairs!

Then we went to Washington for a ride and my forks snapped.



So I sat in the car with Shayna and Nicole while Casey and Aidan rode. Then we went out to dinner (Casey and Nicole did while we ate fish n chips). Then cruised back to Ben's and drunk watching youtube. At 3am Eamon and Louis rolled up. The girls were trying to sleep. Eamon and Louis wouldn't stop laughing and talking about bullshit. It was awesome! The next day we went to jelly and had a ride. was super fun. Casey the crazy machine 450 whipped the hip. The weekend then finished with a long drive home.
